When it Rains it Pours invites original and previously unpublished poetry and fiction in the theme of RAIN (however you interpret that) to its pages. . .
Deadline for Submissions is September 15, 2022
Authors must be over 18 to submit.
Poetry Submissions:
Send one to three works in the body of an email to:
kindofahurricanepress(at)yahoo(dot)com

Please include a third-person author bio with your submission.
Acceptance grants When it Rains it Pours one time electronic and print publishing rights. Upon publication, all rights revert immediately to the author. If a piece published in When it Rains it Pours is later published elsewhere, we respectfully ask that you credit us as the original market.
Published work will be retained in the archives of Kind of a Hurricane Press on a non-exclusive basis for as long as the editor sees fit. Kind of a Hurricane Press reserves the right to potentially select certain works published in this publication for inclusion in annual, "best of" print anthology, Storm Cycle -- All authors being notified in advance of such selection for additional publication.
Absolutely NO simultaneous submissions. The editor will do her best to review work and respond in as timely a manner as humanly possible. Simultaneous submissions just add unnecessary complications that interfere with that process.
Absolutely NO attachments. Any submission received that has an attachment will be deleted. (Please do not make me banish potentially excellent work for such a pointless mistake in following directions.)
What the editor does not want to see:
- Juvenalia
- Erotica
- Works containing gratuitous violence
- Rhyming Poetry
What the editor does want to see:
- High quality Free Verse poetry – literary, mainstream, and experimental forms are welcome
- Imagery that makes her feel something strongly – whatever that something is
- Prose Poetry is also welcome, but must be exceptional
